OVS Teacher Highlights
Ontario Virtual School is proud to recognize two of our educators, Qais Nasseri and Colin Crozier, who recently represented Canada in an international rugby league match in Jamaica. Both teachers earned starting positions on Canada’s National A team.
The match took place at the UWI Mona Bowl in Kingston, Jamaica. Jamaica won the game 34–12 in this official international test. Major media outlets, including The Globe and Mail and the Jamaica Observer, reported on the event. The competition formed part of a rare senior international series between Canada and Jamaica.
Colin Crozier competed at centre and Qais Nasseri played in the second row. Both athletes previously represented Canada on the B team in 2024. In 2025, they advanced to the senior national squad. This advancement reflects the trust placed in them at the highest level of competition. Earning a starting role in an international match marks a standard of performance that few athletes reach.
Their achievement represents more than participation in a single game but reflects long-term commitment and the willingness to compete against the best. These same qualities shape their approach as educators. Ontario Virtual School values accountability, growth, and leadership in action. Students benefit from learning alongside educators who actively pursue demanding goals beyond the classroom. Their experience on the international stage demonstrates that excellence is built through daily discipline and preparation.Their journey shows that progress is earned.
We are genuinely proud to see our teachers represent Canada while continuing to inspire students every day. Their accomplishment reflects the level of excellence we strive to uphold at OVS and strengthens both Canadian sport and our school community
