Hamza Shabbir is an international student who completed his OSSD through Ontario Virtual School. He is continuing his education by attending post-secondary for Mechanical Engineering.
Hamza chose OVS because it gave him the flexibility to complete his diploma while managing his personal circumstances. Having access to an accredited online school allowed him to continue his education without interruption.

For students who are thinking about taking courses from OVS, Hamza’s advice is to stay organized and manage their time effectively. He said learning gives students flexibility, but it also requires discipline and consistency. He also encourages students to communicate with their teachers when needed.
Hamza described OVS as a learning experience that gave him both structure and independence. Compared to day school, he felt OVS offered greater flexibility and independence, which helped him develop stronger self-motivation and responsibility.
He learned how to stay organized and take initiative in his studies. Adjusting to a new education system and studying independently required dedication, discipline, and strong time management skills.
According to Hamza, completing his OSSD as an international student was one of his proudest achievements.
