Ms. Bushell

Where are you from and where did you grow up?

I was born and raised in London Ontario but spent 8 years in the United States for school.

Where did you go for post-secondary and your teaching degree?

I studied Geology and Geophysics at Yale University in Connecticut. I did my Masters  in Education and Teaching degree at Bucknell University in Pennsylvania.

When did you realize you wanted to become a teacher? How long have you been teaching?

My parents were both teachers, so it was always something I was interested in pursuing. I have been teaching math for over 20 years in high school.

Do you prefer online or in person?

I enjoy both. Teaching in person allows the opportunity to get to know the students and to build relationships.  Teaching online allows for flexibility.

Favorite pastimes?

I love to travel with my family. We enjoy ski trips or trips to the ocean. I also enjoy reading mystery novels. I grew up playing hockey and still enjoy watching hockey. I also enjoy coaching field hockey in high school.

First thing You would do or buy if you won the lottery?

I would pay off my siblings’ mortgages and also plan a really big trip for my family!

If you couldn’t be a teacher, what career would you most like to have?

I would like to be a Meteorologist. I enjoy learning about the weather and find weather fascinating but also scary at the same time!

Any other information to share?

I played NCAA ice hockey and field hockey at Yale University. After I completed my undergrad, I attended Bucknell University as a grad student and was the Assistant Field Hockey coach.
